What is Upper GI Endoscopy?

  • Difficulty or pain while swallowing
  • Vomiting or vomiting blood
  • Black stools or unexplained anaemia
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Taking biopsies or treating bleeding

Preparation & what to expect

You will usually be asked not to eat for several hours before the test. The procedure is generally short, and the doctor will explain the findings and any biopsy results afterwards.
